National Diet Building - Located in Nagatacho, Chiyoda Ward. The building was completed in 1936. The House of Representatives sessions take place in the left wing while the House of Councillors in the right wing.
Shibuya District - Shibuya is known as one of the fashion centers of Japan, particularly for young people, and as a major nightlife area. One of the most well-known stories concerning Shibuya is the story of Hachikō, a dog who waited on his late master at Shibuya Station every day from 1923 to 1935, eventually becoming a national celebrity for his loyalty. A statue of Hachikō was built adjacent to the station, and the surrounding Hachikō Square is now the most popular meeting point in the area.
Shinjuku Station (South Entrance) - Shinjuku is a major commercial and administrative centre, housing the busiest train station in the world (Shinjuku Station), and the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, the administration center for the Tokyo Metropolis. In 2006 it was estimated that over 3.31 million per day used the station with over 200 exits!
Shinjuku NS Bldg. (West Shinjuku) - The Nishi-shinjuku skyscraper business district was Tokyo’s first major foray into building skyscrapers with the first appearing in the 1970s; the Keio Plaza Inter-Continental Hotel. Kenzo Tange’s Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building being the current latest.
Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building houses the headquarters of Tokyo’s local government; this comprises not only the 23 wards, but also the cities, towns and villages that make up Tokyo as a whole. Located in Shinjuku, two top-floor observation decks are free of charge to the public.
Sensoji, Asakusa - Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa, Taitō, Tokyo. It is Tokyo’s oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Sensō-ji is the focus of Tokyo’s largest and most popular matsuri, Sanja Matsuri. This takes place over 3–4 days in late spring, and sees the surrounding streets closed to traffic from dawn until late evening.
An Election Vehicle - A politician’s election vehicle, blaring political slogans in the Ginza district, encouraging voters to vote for him.
