Japan’s Toto Neorest 500 Toilet

Madonna wants one, and now Leonardo DiCaprio has one after spending $3200! In his Los Angeles mansion, DiCaprio installs a remote controlled toilet that warms the seat before he actually sits on it. When he approaches the ‘Toto Neorest 500′ the seat automatically rises and seconds later, after he’s finished, the seat goes back down.

The hi-tech toilet also comes with a timer-cleaning mode and a built-in deodorizer! All this plus it’s environmentally friendly by wasting very little water compared to a typical stone-age toilet that we are all use too…..

If you don’t believe it, let Will Smith introduce you to what every man, woman and child should have in their home……or at least experience…..

Bullet Train in Brazil?

Next Year the Japanese government will officially propose to Brazil to select their Shinkansen (Bullet Train) technology for a planned 500km high speed rail route from Rio de Janeiro to Campinas, running through the country’s largest city, Sao Paulo, featuring a total of six stations. The Brazilian government is currently finishing up on a feasibility study sometime early 2008. They expect the maximum speed will be about 250 to 300kph. Japan has already briefed the Brazilian government about it’s successful launch and service of the Taiwan Shinkansen that began in March of this year. If approved the 500km route will eventually expand to a total of 1,500km stretching between Belo Horizonte to the north of Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba to the south of Sao Paulo. It’s expected France, Germany and South Korea will also try to promote their high speed rail technology.

Softbank Creative Marketing

With creative marketing, new discount plans and its Yahoo! branded application phones, Softbank is able to increase their market share significantly, making a further dent into NTT Docomo’s lead in the mobile market. To counter, this spring NTT Docomo will integrate Google applications alongside i-mode. Google plays a small part in Japan compared to the dominance of Yahoo! so a partnership with NTT Docomo will position Google to take advantage of Docomo’s large user base. Google currently provides applications to KDD, another cellular provider in Japan.

On a less serious and informal note – an example of Softbank’s creative marketing skills is shown through it’s “White Family 24” cellular plan commercial campaign, which continues to be popular in Japan. The commercials star a strange family with Aya Ueto as the sister, a black man as the brother and a white Akita dog as the father. Below are some of the commercials…..
